1 dead, another injured in Inglewood shooting

INGLEWOOD, Calif.

Officers were dispatched to the 3700 block of W. 106th Street around 1:17 p.m., where they found a male adult suffering from a gunshot wound.

They learned moments later that the man was shot in the area of 107th Street and Doty Avenue, according to police. Officers arriving at the second location found another man with several gunshot wounds.

The first victim was taken to a local hospital where he is receiving treatment, police said. The second victim, identified as 29-year-old Ismael Castaneda Jr., of Inglewood, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The motive for the crime was not known. Anyone with information was asked to call the Inglewood Police Homicide Section at (310) 412-5246.
