The recalled vehicles may experience overheating of the engine cylinder head that could cause cracks, allowing oil to leak, according to Ford. The leaking oil could come into contact with a hot engine surface, resulting in possible engine compartment fire.
Ford will modify the engine shielding, cooling and control systems free of charge. Owners and dealers will be notified by the company. The recall is expected to begin by January 23, 2014.
