Kanye West is wanted for questioning by police for an alleged confrontation at a building in Beverly Hills Monday afternoon.

The Beverly Hills Police Department says it is investigating reports that West hit an 18-year-old man.

Officers say they responded to the 8800 block of Wilshire Boulevard around 12:15 p.m. regarding a misdemeanor battery that occurred at the location. West was already out of the building by the time officers arrived.

According to an ABC News source, the confrontation began as a young man tried to help West's fiancée, Kim Kardashian, into the building and called the paparazzi racial and homophobic slurs. The source says that when Kardashian told the young man the language was inappropriate, he turned on her and called her names.

West is already facing an assault charge for allegedly punching a photographer at Los Angeles International Airport last July.
