Kraft Velveeta Cheesy Skillets recalled over soy

WASHINGTON

About 1.77 million pounds of Kraft Velveeta Cheesy Skillets Singles Ultimate Cheeseburger Mac are being recalled and removed from shelves.

The products are formulated with hydrolyzed soy protein and dried soy sauce. Those known allergens are not listed on some labels.

The recalled products have expiration dates of March 2 to Oct. 23 on them, and were shipped to Kraft Foods distribution centers and retailers worldwide between May 2013 and January.

So far, there have been no reports of illness.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture says the company discovered the problem during a routine quality check.

No other Velveeta or Kraft products are affected.

Consumers with questions about the recall were urged to call Kraft Foods consumer relations center at (800) 396-5512.
