A man was arrested in Chicago Wednesday night for the stabbing murder of a Los Angeles woman in December.

Laevin Meikel Weatherspoon, 27, was arrested in Chicago, Illinois, at about 11 p.m. Wednesday. The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office filed one count of murder against Weatherspoon on Tuesday.

L.A. resident Wanda Threadgill, 45, was found dead from multiple stab wounds at 9500 South Western Avenue on December 17, 2013, at about 11:20 a.m.

LAPD Gang Homicide investigators determined Weatherspoon and Threadgill were acquaintances and became involved in a dispute that led to her murder.

Weatherspoon was arrested in Chicago with the assistance of the FBI Fugitive Task Force and the Cook County Sheriff's Department.
