The flames broke out on Virgil Avenue just above Santa Monica Boulevard, on the border of Silver Lake. The garage was badly damaged and some power lines were knocked down.
Fire crews had it out in about 15 minutes, and the Department of Water and Power was called in to repair the power lines.
