Body found in San Gabriel Mountains ID'd as 62-year-old Hawthorne hiker missing since January

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A body that was found in the San Gabriel Mountains has been identified as one of two Los Angeles County hikers that have been missing since last month.

According to the L.A. County Special Enforcement Bureau, an unidentified hiker was found near Mount Islip on Saturday.

The coroner's office later confirmed that was the body of Bob Gregory of Hawthorne. The 62-year-old's body was found close to where he was originally reported missing on Jan. 13.

This came after weeks of searching. Crews are still looking for the other missing hiker, British actor Julian Sands.

Sands went missing in the Mt. Baldy area the same day as Gregory.
