GLENDORA, Calif. (KABC) -- A 13-year-old boy was arrested for allegedly setting a display of stuffed animals on fire at a Walmart store in Glendora, according to officials.
Police say they responded to an arson investigation at the store around 12:20 a.m. Wednesday. According to investigators, surveillance video shows the boy getting a lighter from an aisle containing Christmas decorations and then lighting up the stuffed animals.
When officers arrived, a customer had already put out the flames with a fire extinguisher. Police say an employee had to be transported to a hospital for shortness of breath because of the amount of smoke in the store.
The teenager was arrested in the parking lot as he was waiting with his family for the store to reopen.
The incident remains under investigation.
