BOYLE HEIGHTS, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- The city of Los Angeles hopes a $25,000 reward will help police in their search for a hit-and-run driver who struck a 70-year-old nun in Boyle Heights last Sunday.
Sister Raquel Diaz was critically injured after she was struck by a black truck near Winter Street and N. Evergreen Avenue at about 5:20 p.m.
Diaz is director of religious education at the Church of Assumption, which is located near the area where she was struck. She has worked as a sister for over 50 years.
A priest at the Church of Assumption told Eyewitness News Diaz has been placed on life support.
A description of the suspect or the suspect's vehicle is not available.
