California man files lawsuit against Apple for slowing down old iPhones

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A California man has filed one of several class action lawsuits after Apple admitted to deliberately slowing down older iPhones.

Apple said its new software updates slow down older devices in an effort to extend the phone's battery life or protect the phone under certain conditions.

Some customers say the company is actually doing it to force customers to buy new phones.

Apple has not commented on the lawsuit.
