ONTARIO, Calif. (KABC) -- A car crash in the Inland Empire left five people dead on New Year's Eve, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP said they received a call at about 7 p.m. of a two-car crash just off the 10 Freeway.
Officials said the crash happened on the Vineyard Avenue off-ramp heading eastbound on the freeway.
CHP said a Toyota Yaris exited the off-ramp out-of-control at a fast speed and struck a Toyota Solara.
All four people in the Solara were killed, and a 7-year-old child in the Yaris was also killed.
Three other people were taken to Loma Linda University Medical Center, according to authorities.
Investigators said drugs or alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the crash.
CHP said the driver of the Yaris is cooperating with the investigation, which is ongoing.
