In the midst of risking their lives to help the thousands of people, firefighters need to take breaks to get rest. Instead of complaining, they utilized their surroundings and ended up falling asleep on the ground in neighbor's yards.

REDDING, Calif. -- As firefighters battle the Carr Fire near Redding in Shasta County, some of them need to take breaks to rest.

One small crew utilized their surroundings and ended up falling asleep on the ground in a burned-out yard.

Redding evacuee Richard Tuggle took a photo of five firefighters getting whatever rest they could.

Tuggle said the firefighters saved his house before squeezing in their nap, calling them "true heroes."
