SOUTH GATE, Calif. (KABC) -- A California Highway Patrol officer held a man at gunpoint Saturday afternoon after he failed to pull over for speeding in South Gate.

CHP received a call at about 4:20 p.m. An officer attempted to stop the vehicle for speeding, but the driver sped off. He later came to a stop at Pendleton Avenue and Wright Road.

Photos of the incident show an officer pointing his gun, then with a suspect face down on the ground and a gun pointed to his back.

The suspect was arrested on charges of speeding and failure to yield.

It was unclear if the vehicle was stolen or how fast the driver was going. No one was injured.
