OXNARD, Calif. (KABC) -- A man wanted in a cold Oregon homicide case was arrested Tuesday after he was found living under a false name in Oxnard, officials said.
The suspect, 45-year-old Fernando Cortez, was wanted in connection with a 1998 homicide which occurred in Salem, Oregon.
Working with the FBI and Salem police, the Ventura County Violent Crimes Task Force found Cortez and arrested him around 7 a.m. in the area of the 1900 block of Ginger Street.
He was booked into the Ventura County Jail for second-degree murder.
Officials say Cortez was living in Oxnard under the alias Moises Garibay.
