Man killed in single-vehicle crash in Pasadena

PASADENA, Calif. (KABC) -- A man was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Pasadena Monday morning, police said.

The crash happened around 2:44 a.m. on Del Mar Boulevard between Hill and Holliston avenues, near Pasadena City College.

The vehicle was sheared in half by the force of the collision. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not been released, pending notification of next of kin.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, but police say speed may have been a factor.
