Tour guide rescues dolphin stranded on beach
A tour guide rescued a young Benguela dolphin that became stranded on a beach in Walvis Bay, Namibia.

Naude Dreyer didn't have high hopes when he came to the aid of a young Benguela dolphin stranded on the beach in Namibia. But the tour guide's heroic effort ensured that the dolphin was able to swim another day.

"It's not clear how he ended up on there in the first place," Dreyer wrote on Facebook. "After a quick assessment and measurements, I attempted to get him swimming again."

In a video of the rescue, Dreyer examines the dolphin before picking him up and carrying him to the water.

"I was not very hopeful, but as soon as he got into water and realized where he was he took off like a bullet," Dreyer said.
