Tips on how to drive safely in the rain

IRVINE, Calif. (KABC) -- The number of accidents and troubles on the road shoots up during heavy rain.

With a massive storm approaching the Southland, car specialist Dave Kunz checked out a few things drivers can do to prepare and stay safe on the roads.

At MasterDrive in Irvine, drivers learn how to correct their steering when they feel a skid coming on, and avoid hydroplaning on slick surfaces.
