Father of 3 fatally shot in Hawaiian Gardens

HAWAIIAN GARDENS, Calif. (KABC) -- A homicide investigation was underway in Hawaiian Gardens Sunday after a father of three was fatally shot near his home.

The shooting in the 12200 block of E. 224th Street was reported at about 9:20 a.m., according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

The victim was found shot multiple times inside his car. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Neighbors and family members told Eyewitness News the victim was a 50-year-old father of three who worked as a contractor.

Sheriff's deputies say the victim is not a gang member. No further details were immediately released.
