2 men shot in Hawthorne following dispute

HAWTHORNE, Calif. (KABC) -- Two men were shot during a dispute in Hawthorne Thursday afternoon.

Authorities received a call around 3:54 p.m. regarding shots fired in the 12900 block of Doty Avenue.

When officers arrived, a man was found suffering a gunshot wound to the head and another suffered a wound to the arm. Both men are in their 30s, police said.

The suspect and victims know each other, according to police.

Doty Avenue from El Segundo Boulevard to 132nd Street was closed during the investigation. Detectives described the suspect as a black man in his mid- to late-40s.

Authorities said the shooting was not gang related.

No further information was immediately available.
