FRAZIER PARK, Calif. (KABC) -- Temperatures plunged and the sky darkened Sunday as a sudden storm swept through the Grapevine along Interstate 5.
Heavy rains, hail and thunderstorms pounded the roadways, catching many drivers off guard.
In the Frazier Park area, snow fell in Pine Mountain, covering the ground with a light dusting of white powder. With the snow level expected to drop throughout the evening, the California Highway Patrol kept a close eye on weather conditions.
Back in the Grapevine, some motorists pulled off the freeway during the downpour, which was a welcome sight for many.
