PASADENA, Calif. (KABC) -- The 127th Rose Parade is on Friday, and volunteers were putting the finishing touches on the large floats on Sunday.
Decorators at the Rosemont Pavilion in Pasadena worked on floats throughout the day and night to make sure they blossom into their full beauty.
Volunteers at the location worked on 10 floats expected to make their way down Colorado Boulevard at the annual Rose Parade.
"The colors are beautiful when you start working in the subtleties of the different yellows, and it's kind of unbelievable," said volunteer Edwina Smith.
Floats for the ABC show "The Bachelor" were being prepared as well as the famous Dole float in Irwindale.
There will be 44 floats on News Year's Day displaying the 2016 theme, "Find your Adventure."
Carol Kozin has been a volunteer for eight years and said she is always excited to participate in the fun.
"Fell in love with it and love how to see how they make everything come together, you know? So, from the tiniest little pea on up through," she said.
The reward for many volunteers is being able to see their work on display.
"It's going to be seen by millions of people on New Years Day, and I feel like I can look and say 'Hey, I did that flower,'" Smith said.
To experience the magic of the floats before they debut, catch an early float viewing from Dec. 27 to Dec. 30.
