LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Jodie Foster is back in the director's chair for the new dramatic thriller, "Money Monster." The drama unfolds during a live TV broadcast and is played out in real time.
Oscar winner George Clooney plays the host of TV show all about money, and Oscar winner Julia Roberts plays the show's producer.
"Unforgiven" star Jack O'Connell plays an angry investor who takes over the studio during a live broadcast and holds Clooney's character hostage.
After listening to one of the show's investment tips, he lost the only money he ever had.
"I think this film has a real solid basis of truth. And so, yes, it's a taut thriller, and it's really a film for the general public," Foster said. "It keeps you on the edge of your seat. But there's a lot of meaningful stuff, a lot of layers, and the audiences are really challenged to think in this film."
