While Kim may still be the most popular member of the Kardashian clan, her youngest sister Kylie Jenner also receives plenty of attention. Now, teens are trying to recreate the look of her oversized pout and the results could be dangerous.

The #KylieJennerChallenge, as it's being called, involves sucking on a small cup or shot glass to plump one's lips. But videos and photos posted under the viral hashtag reveal grotesque results that leave many teens' mouths bruised and almost unrecognizable.

Sucking into the glass creates a vacuum seal that causes the lips to fill with fluid, according to ABC News. But, dermatologist Dr. Barney Kenet warns, the lips are more delicate than other tissues, and it could lead to lasting problems.

"Repeated attempts can lead to some potential deformity," he told ABC News. "The tissue is more delicate than other areas of the body. It can create negative pressure or dilate the vein."

Kenet also adds that the results are temporary at best, but the bruising can linger for days.

While Jenner has not directly commented on the viral craze, the 17-year-old took to Twitter Tuesday to say that she is not encouraging people to try to look like her.

"I want to encourage people/young girls like me to be YOURSELF & not be afraid to experiment w your look," she wrote.
