1 killed in downtown LA bus incident

DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- One person died after being trapped under a bus in downtown Los Angeles, authorities say.

The incident was reported around 1:18 p.m. in the area of 735 W. Sixth Street. The Los Angeles Fire Department says one person, of undisclosed age and gender, was deceased at the scene after being trapped under a bus.

Authorities later said it appeared the person committed suicide by jumping from a nearby building and then becoming trapped under the bus after falling.

The company or agency operating the bus was not immediately known.
