Kamala Harris invites voters to chart a 'new way forward'
Kamala Harris accepted the Democratic nomination for president, and despite no surprise guest, her impassioned speech brought her party to their feet.

CHICAGO -- The Democratic National Convention will kick off its fourth and final night Thursday.

After a week of Democrats' most prominent figures rallying the party faithful, Vice President Kamala Harris accepted her party's nomination for president.

The theme of the final night is "For Our Future," according to convention organizers.

ABC News will have special coverage of the DNC -- including primetime coverage from 10 p.m. until 11 p.m. ET on ABC and on ABC News Live from 7 p.m. until 12 a.m. ET.

Adam Kinzinger among many Republicans to speak at DNC

Every night of the DNC, GOP members from a former press secretary for the Trump White House to a former "full-fledged member of MAGA," have been given a chance to stand at the podium and address the Democratic delegates in Chicago.

At least seven Republicans have been given time to speak to their longtime rivals -- including Rep. Adam Kinzinger who was given a prime-time speaking slot Thursday night -- and all of them said they've dumped Trump and are supporting Harris.

Speakers make case for Harris as commander in chief

The DNC is highlighting national security, with recent speakers Colorado Rep. Jason Crow, an Army Ranger; Michigan Rep. Elissa Slotkin and New York Rep. Pat Ryan, an Amy veteran, making the case for Harris as the commander in chief.

"I'll tell you what I think of Donald Trump. They told me I can't say that word on TV," Ryan said.

Early speakers breeze through speeches

The beginning of the fourth night has been moving briskly, with shorter speeches.

Although there have been a few musical interludes from DJ Metro, they also did not last long. The previous three nights of the DNC have ended after 11 p.m. ET.
