LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- The Dodgers held a victory parade in downtown Los Angeles on Friday.
Downtown L.A. was transformed into a giant Dodger street party for the parade, with thousands of fans lining the streets as early as 4 a.m. to get a good spot.
After the parade ended, the players headed to Dodger Stadium for a rally, where the atmosphere was electrifying.
World Series MVP Freddie Freeman was emotional as the crowd chanted "Freddie! Freddie!"
"When I came back after my son got sick, you guys showed out for my family. That was one of the greatest experiences I ever had on the field. I was so touched. I did everything I could to get on this field for you guys. I'm glad I did because we got a championship now."
What a Friday morning! After a jubilant parade through downtown Los Angeles and a roaring rally at Dodger Stadium, it's a wrap for the Dodgers World Series celebration.
The rally at Dodger Stadium ended with the raising of the World Series trophy and Randy Newman's iconic song "We Love LA" blasting through the speakers.
Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw held back tears as he took the stage at Dodger Stadium in what fans described as the longest ovation of the night.
Kershaw did not appear for the Dodgers postseason because of bone spurs in his left toe and only played seven games during the regular season, but that didn't make this celebration any less emotional.
"I'm at a loss for words. I didn't have anything to do in this championship, but it feels like the best feeling in the world to get to celebrate with you guys," he said. "Thank you. Dodgers for life."
Kershaw plans to return for another season in 2025.
"This is so special," he said to a roaring crowd. "I'm just so honored to be here and to be part of this team. Congratulations, Los Angeles, thank you fans!"
During his remarks onstage during the championship celebration event Friday at Dodger Stadium, Kiké Hernández mocked the performance by rapper Fat Joe before Game 3 of the World Series in New York.
"Then we go to New York, and this guy he used to be fat and he isn't fat anymore. His name is Joe," Hernández said. "He came out and sang, and we didn't need to play anymore because after that performance we had already won."
Others also panned Fat Joe's performance at Yankee Stadium, giving rise to what some have referred to as the "Fat Joe Curse" that purportedly led to New York subsequently losing the series to the Dodgers.
Hernández paid tribute to Ice Cube, who strolled across the field at Dodger Stadium and rapped a medley of some of his hits before Game 2 of the World Series.
"Ice Cube came out in Game 2 -- and with his performance, we didn't even need to play the game, we had already won it," the outfielder said.
