LONG BEACH, Calif. (KABC) -- A suspected drunk driver slammed her car into two parked cars outside of a Long Beach home at the end of a police chase early Thursday morning.

It all started on the 605 Freeway in Hawaiian Gardens when the suspect's car spun out of control and went into some bushes near the Carson Street exit around 1:15 a.m.

When officers tried to pull the driver over, she did not comply, and a chase ensued.

The pursuit didn't last long. The driver crashed into a small wall in front of a nearby home near Pioneer Avenue and Ring Street.

The car barreled into two parked cars, but narrowly missed hitting the house.

"I was just getting ready to fall asleep, and I heard the sirens, and then I heard the helicopter, and then I heard a real big loud crash, and then I jumped up and looked out the window and see my truck was all messed up and my grandma's car," described Chris Lease, a resident.

The female driver was transported to an area hospital to be checked for injuries. No one else was injured. The identity of the driver was not immediately released.
