When officers arrived to the scene, they found a man holding a knife and a woman who had been stabbed at least once.
LONG BEACH, Calif. (KABC) -- A reported stabbing in Long Beach led to a police shooting Wednesday morning, leaving at least one person injured.
It happened around 8:57 a.m. in the 300 block of 69 Way near the 710 Freeway. When officers arrived, they found a man holding a knife and a woman who had been stabbed at least once.

Officers asked the man to drop the knife but he refused, according to police. That's when shots were fired.
It's unclear if the man was struck by gunfire or if he suffered any kind of injuries - he was sent to the hospital in an unknown condition.
The woman's stabbing injuries were described as non-life threatening by police.
Officers are still investigating what may have led up to the stabbing. The relationship between the suspect and the victim remains unknown.
