SANTA ANA, Calif. (KABC) -- A search is underway after a mother in Santa Ana vanished nearly two weeks ago.
Claudia Reyes was last seen with her husband on May 6 by her landlord. Her husband said he last talked to her on May 7 when she left to go out with friends.
"That information he provided us was that she was going out clubbing with unknown friends," said Cpl Anthony Bertagna of the Santa Ana Police Department.
But her co-workers at a Garden Grove El Pollo Loco said she didn't show up that day, and they haven't heard from her since.
According to police, Reyes usually contacts her family and friends on a regular basis and rarely missed work. She is the mother of a young child.
"Her family is greatly concerned for Claudia's safety, as her whereabouts are unknown," Santa Ana police said in a press release.
Reyes was last seen at her home on Bush Street in Santa Ana. Police say her belongings have since been removed from her apartment.
A manager in the building told ABC7 he believes the husband moved everything out on Sunday.
Authorities say this is not a criminal investigation, and they stress that Reyes' husband is not a suspect. But since he reported his wife missing on May 11, he has hired an attorney.
Anyone with information is urged to call Santa Ana police at (714) 834-4211.
