WILDOMAR, Calif. (KABC) -- One person died and several others were seriously injured after a rollover car crash on the northbound 15 Freeway in Wildomar.

Authorities said the crash happened around 3:30 a.m. Saturday, just south of Clinton Keith Road. California Highway Patrol investigators said a black Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling northbound on the freeway when the driver lost control.

The SUV rolled over several times before stopping in a nearby parking lot. At least seven of the passengers were thrown from the car.

Authorities are searching for the driver, who they believe fled the scene. But investigators said they do not believe drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.

No further information was immediately available.
