Music legend Andrae Crouch dies at 72

Music legend Andrae Crouch, who won seven Grammy Awards and was inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame, died Thursday, Jan. 8, 2015. He was 72.

Music legend Andrae Crouch, who worked with famous artists like Michael Jackson and Madonna, died Thursday in Los Angeles. He was 72.

Crouch was hospitalized on Jan. 3. He died at Northridge Hospital Medical Center, a spokesperson confirmed.

He won seven Grammy Awards and six GMA Dove Awards. He was nominated for an Academy Award for "The Color Purple," and was inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame. He also was given a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Crouch has worked with musicians from Elvis Presley to Michael Jackson and Madonna.
