North Hollywood search: 1 car burglary suspect arrested, 1 at large

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A search was underway Tuesday morning in North Hollywood for a suspect who fled on foot at the end of a police chase.

Police say the incident began as a car burglary report after a car owner heard windows being smashed.

The driver of a dark-colored SUV led responding officers on a short pursuit, which ended near Sherman Way and Beck Avenue. The passenger stayed in the vehicle and was arrested, but the driver fled on foot.

Authorities set up a perimeter but the suspect remained at large as of 6 a.m.

Police say stolen items were retrieved from the suspect vehicle.
