Huntington Beach tree crash leaves alleged DUI driver dead, 2 injured

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. (KABC) -- A suspected drunken motorist was killed after slamming his car into a palm tree in Huntington Beach Friday night. His two passengers suffered moderate injuries.



Police say the driver lost control and slammed his teal 1991 Acura Integra into a palm tree at the intersection of Beach Boulevard and Ellis Avenue just after 8 p.m.



Responding officers rushed a male and a female to UCI Medical Center with moderate injuries. The driver, identified as a 21-year-old Rowland Heights resident, was found partially restrained in the driver's seat. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
