SOUTH GATE, Calif. (KABC) -- Police are searching for a man they believe to be a hit-and-run driver involved in a crash that killed two people in South Gate Saturday.
Police say 22-year-old Bryan Rojas ran from his vehicle moments after crashing into a white Mitsubishi in the area of El Paseo and South Garfield Avenue.
The car was smashed so badly that five people were trapped inside and firefighters had to use the jaws of life. Firefighters say a male and female pulled from the vehicle died at the scene. Three other people were seriously injrued.
A wanted bulletin issued by police says that Rojas has an injury to his forehead from the accident.
