Suspect killed in officer-involved shooting in Colton

COLTON, Calif. (KABC) -- An armed suspect was shot and killed in an officer-involved shooting with Colton police on Tuesday morning.

Authorities responded to a report of a man with a gun at a truck stop in the 2300 block of East Steel Road at about 7:45 a.m. When they arrived, they found the suspect. After some sort of struggle, the suspect was fatally shot. His name has not yet been released.

An officer suffered minor injuries during a struggle with the suspect.

The suspect's handgun was recovered at the scene. The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department is investigating the officer-involved shooting.
