NORTH HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A driver and three passengers were apprehended after leading a California Highway Patrol officer on a high-speed chase in the North Hollywood area on Saturday.

The chase began on the northbound 170 Freeway near Burbank when the officer tried to stop the driver, who was observed speeding in excess of 100 mph.

The driver exited Victory Boulevard east and collided with another car and a concrete island. The driver and three passengers then bailed out of the car on foot.

The officer chased down the driver before apprehending the three remaining suspects a short time later. They were all taken into custody without incident.

The driver who was hit during the chase suffered minor injuries. No one else was hurt.

So far the suspects have not been identified, and it was not immediately known why they fled. An investigation is ongoing.
