PERRIS, Calif. (KABC) -- Five burglary suspects were arrested after witnesses reported a break-in at a Perris residence Wednesday morning.
Five suspects, one armed with a handgun, forced their way into an occupied residence near the 1200 block of Bunting Way in Perris through a rear sliding door at about 10:40 a.m. Wednesday.
Several witnesses saw the break-in and called the Perris Police Department.
The suspects fled on foot as officers arrived. A perimeter was set up and a Riverside County sheriff's helicopter was deployed to search for the suspects.
Two suspects were immediately caught; three others were found in back yards of nearby residences, police said.
A loaded handgun was found in a backpack believed to have been dropped by one of the suspects, 19-year-old Hemet resident Gabriel Ganow.
Ganow was booked at the Riverside County Jail; the other four suspects were booked at the Riverside County Juvenile Hall. All five suspects were charged with burglary and conspiracy.
