FONTANA, Calif. (KABC) -- A Husky missing for two years was reunited with her owner in Fontana - all thanks to a microchip.
"It's amazing. We have a family member back," owner Skyler Skelton said.
Storm was found at Shadow Park in Southridge on July 29. Fontana officers located the microchip and brought the dog home.
"That microchip saved our little Storm," Skelton said.
Family members told police that the dog escaped when they opened the garage door. They searched for Storm, but she was nowhere to be found.
Skelton urged others to microchip their pets. Microchips cost about $20 to $30.
"Go do it," Skelton said. "You have nothing to lose. It's just an extra insurance for your pet."
This year, Fontana police has reunited more than 70 pets with their owners because of microchips.
