CHINO HILLS, Calif. (KABC) -- A brush fire broke out Wednesday in Chino Hills, burning more than 100 acres on a hillside just off the 71 Freeway.

The so-called Euclid Fire broke out around 2 p.m. and quickly shut down both sides of the 71 Freeway near Euclid Avenue. The 91 Freeway was also shut down, causing a backup in afternoon traffic.

The fire burned 118 acres, burning on both sides of the 71 Freeway. CAL FIRE estimated that it could've possibly grow to 500 acres, but crews managed to stop it from spreading just before 5:30 p.m.

The fire was moving toward the Prado Dam, which is on the east side of the 71 Freeway.

No injuries were reported and it's unclear if any structures have been damaged.

The cause of the fire remains unknown.
