LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Pull up a chair at Tabl M, a new downtown Los Angeles restaurant serving delicious Lebanese dishes.
It's located right at the bottom of the escalator in "The Bloc," downtown L.A.'s open air shopping center.
"The community here is very vibrant and diverse, and we like the city life," co-owner Joe Abboud said.
Co-owner and chef Muna Fargo has always had a passion for cooking up healthy, flavorful food.
At the advice of her husband Joe, she attended culinary school at the prestigious Le Cordon Bleu.
"It was one of the best things I ever did, and I always had it in my heart to open a restaurant," Fargo said. "Not just because I like to cook, but because it's a joy to see people eating and dancing."
Forced to flee Lebanon in 2022, this husband-and-wife team is excited to share flavors from the Middle East with their new community.
Tabl M opened just this past summer, serving beef shawarma plates with all the toppings and flat breads that come to life in the wood-fired oven.
Other menu favorites include hummus and roasted red pepper dips, fresh falafels with tasty tahini, and pitas and eggplants.
Plus, don't miss Fargo's midnight chocolate cake for dessert.
"Everyone wants to sit on Muna's table," Abboud said.
Dishes she made famous at family gatherings are now yours to enjoy at Tabl M.
"They eat it, and then they start licking the sauce and they look around like, 'Oh my goodness, do I have anyone is watching me?'" Fargo said. "I'll be watching. I'll always be watching, always be smiling when I see this. This kind of behavior, it's really dear to my heart."
Before you go, you're encouraged to leave a note on their gratitude wall.
"We're very blessed and happy to be here, downtown L.A. at The Bloc, at Tabl M that we built from our heart," Fargo said.
Tabl M is open Tuesday through Sunday and closed on Mondays.
The restaurant is located at 700 W 7th St., Ste G140, in Los Angeles.
