Sandra Bullock got a real-life scare when a man broke into her West L.A. home in June. The suspect has pleaded not guilty.

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- New details have emerged about Sandra Bullock's real-life scare with a man who broke into her West Los Angeles home.

Suspect Joshua James Corbett, 39, has pleaded not guilty and is being held on more than $2 million bail.

The incident happened in the early morning hours of June 8. Bullock told the police she arrived home around 1 a.m., went to her room and took a shower.

She later heard loud bangs that woke her up. She thought they were coming from her workout room where she left the windows open.

Alone in her home, Bullock said she tried to go back to sleep, but the banging got louder and now seemed to be coming from the living room.

She told police that she feared for her safety, closed and locked the door to her bedroom and called 911.

"She stated that as she was closing the door to her bedroom, she observed a male, wearing a dark sweatshirt, dark pants, walk past her bedroom towards the third floor stairs, leading to the workout room. She then waited for police to arrive," court documents stated.

When police did arrive, they found the suspect coming down the stairs. He was taken into custody without incident.

According to police, Corbett "spontaneously yelled out 'Sandy' numerous times." Corbett also said, "'Sandy, I'm sorry, please don't press charges,'" according to police.

When police arrested Corbett, they found a notebook with multiple entries addressed to Bullock that included four cut-out magazine pictures of the actress, a Utah concealed firearm permit and a letter addressed to her, dated June 7.

"Sandy, you could have had me today, however you choose other people over me. I'll be around as you know. I love you. You are very special to me and without you in my life there is only misery," the letter read, in part.

The letter also addressed the large gates outside Bullock's house.

"There are two large emperous gates that no one can open but you. I hope one day you open them to me."

Corbett signs off the letter as Bullock's husband.

"Until then I will forever be thinking of you, and Louie my son, as you are my wife by law, the law of God, and you belong to me and me to you."

Police eventually searched Corbett's home. They recovered several fire arms, including handguns, two fully automatic rifles and a large amount of ammunition.

All guns police recovered at the home were registered to Corbett.

Corbett is due back in court next month.
