SANTA CLARITA, Calif. (KABC) -- A brush fire in the Santa Clarita area has been reduced to mostly embers and is 95 percent contained after scorching 415 acres.
The Calgrove Fire broke out along the northbound I-5 near Calgrove Boulevard around 1:15 p.m. Wednesday and spread quickly.
About 1,000 people and 500 homes were evacuated at one point. All evacuation orders were lifted Wednesday at 10 p.m.

A smoke advisory was issued for the Santa Clarita Valley and surrounding areas by the South Coast Air Quality Management District. Residents in the area were asked to avoid vigorous outdoor and indoor activities, and keep doors and windows closed. Those with respiratory problems were urged to remain indoors.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. Tony Imbrenda, Los Angeles County Fire Department public information officer, said it could be a few days before a cause can be determined.
Several firefighters will remain at the scene to mop up hot spots overnight and through Friday.
