SHERMAN OAKS, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Nearly 1,000 people were without power Sunday morning in Sherman Oaks following an underground equipment failure.

The electrical vault issue happened at Woodman Avenue and Addison Street shortly after 3 a.m.

Los Angeles Department of Water and Power officials said some customers had their power restored at 6:30 a.m. They said the remaining customers had their power restored between 11:30 a.m. and noon.

The incident remained under investigation.
