10 former big-time recruits running out of time to live up to hype

Recruiting is an inexact science. From college coaches scouting players to recruiting services handing out rankings, there's no foolproof way to predict which players will have success and which won't. Every year, though, there are certain players dubbed future stars who get the spotlight.

When prospects are consensus all-everything five-stars and offered multiple Division I scholarships, it's usually a good projection of a successful career. It doesn't always work out, though, and there are players who, for whatever reason, haven't yet matched their hype.

Time hasn't run out yet for some of those players, and there is still opportunity left for them to finish out their college careers strong. Here is a look at 10 players who had the hype, not just from ESPN's rankings, but other recruiting services and college coaches, and are running out of time to meet the expectations.
