Kevin De Bruyne likely to finish career in MLS in Los Angeles, agent says

Kevin De Bruyne could finish his career in Los Angeles, according to the Manchester City midfielder's agent.

De Bruyne, 26, signed a new five-year contract in January that will keep him at the Etihad Stadium until 2023, but his agent, Patrick De Koster, said the player could follow in the footsteps of David Beckham, Steven Gerrard and Zlatan Ibrahimovic by finishing his career in California.

"At the moment, he is very happy at his club," De Koster told Belgian TV show MNM. "The future of Kevin? I see him ending up in Los Angeles."

The LA Galaxy have long been a favoured destination for European superstars toward the end of their careers, but now there are two options with LAFC joining MLS this season.

De Bruyne joined City in a 54 million deal from Wolfsburg in 2015 after being named the Bundesliga Player of the Year.

De Koster, who also revealed he has a tattoo of his client, said the Premier League champions beat competition from European rivals Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain for his signature.

"The first contact with City was in February, but the transfer was not until August. The clubs always have to find an agreement first," he said. "Kevin had a good time in the Bundesliga and saw something in Bayern Munich, but they could not rival the financial strength of PSG and City.

"As a broker, you always try to apply pressure, but I try to respect everyone. We always look for the best solution for the player, financially and sportingly."

De Bruyne's new contract was worth a reported 260,000-a-week and will keep him at the club until he is nearly 32.
