Special Olympics athletes honored at Parade of Champions in Riverside
Special Olympics athletes were honored at the Parade of Champions in Riverside on Wednesday.

RIVERSIDE, Calif. (KABC) -- Special Olympics athletes were honored at the Parade of Champions in Riverside on Wednesday.

Riverside is playing host to the entire United States delegation, which is comprised of 344 athletes and 137 coaches and trainers. The city is also hosting the Swedish team.

At the No Drama Therapeutic Ranch in Norco, members of the USA Equestrian Team were making last-minute adjustments to practice three routines which include dressage, equitation and trail riding.

Seventeen miles away, the Southern California Special Olympics Softball Team worked on their game. They, along with Michigan and Arizona, make up Team USA. They will compete against 10 other international teams in their quest for gold.
