Man fatally stabbed in Rose Bowl parking lot
A man in his 20s was found fatally stabbed in the parking lot outside the Rose Bowl.

PASADENA, Calif. (KABC) -- A man in his 20s was found fatally stabbed Monday evening in the parking lot outside the Rose Bowl, authorities said.

Officers and firefighter-paramedics responded to parking lot K shortly after 10 p.m., a spokesperson for the Pasadena Police Department said. The stabbing victim, who suffered two wounds, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses told investigators the man was involved in a fight with another man, adding that others tried to break up the altercation.

"Officers arrived here and found some individuals trying to render aid to the victim. Paramedics were summoned, they arrived. Unfortunately, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased here," said Lt. Jesse Carrillo.

Friends identified the victim as 22-year-old Demetrio Tapia of Pasadena.

No arrest has been made in the case, and a description of the assailant was unavailable.

No public event was held at the venue Monday evening.
