SYLMAR, Calif. (KABC) -- A female motorist was killed after a suspected drunk driver slammed into her car in Sylmar on Sunday.
The crash happened around 6:30 a.m. near Polk Street and Foothill Boulevard.
Investigators said the female driver was traveling eastbound on Foothill in a black Toyota, when a silver Dodge Charger traveling southbound on Polk Street ran a red light and struck her car.
The driver of the Charger, described as a male in his 20s, was transported to an area hospital. His condition was not immediately known. Authorities suspect he was driving under the influence.
The female driver, 58, died at the scene.
It's unknown if the driver of the Charger was arrested.
