In the sexy thriller 'The Boy Next Door,' Jennifer Lopez has a one-night stand that comes back to haunt her.

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Jennifer Lopez stars in and produces the new sexy thriller "The Boy Next Door."

She plays a woman who meets a charming young man who's moved into the neighborhood. What starts as a harmless attraction turns into one night of unbridled passion. And it's after that bad decision that Lopez's character realizes the young man has some serious anger issues, as well as plenty of deep dark secrets.

"It's definitely a thriller... A scary thriller, a romantic thriller," said Lopez.

And the final cut even had Lopez jumping out of her seat!

"If somebody would have told me that it was that scary at the end, I might not have wanted to [see it]," the actress joked. "But then, it's better that I don't know. People love scary movies, I'm just one of those wieners that don't."

In the film, Lopez and co-star Ryan Guzman share one super sexy love scene. And it's shooting those types of scenes that Lopez finds truly scary.

"As an actress, you always feel that vulnerability, you feel nervous. You have to really mentally prepare for those things, and physically prepare. You know, you know you're going to be showing a lot of skin, so all of that is always an intense thing to do," Lopez said. "But as a producer you go, 'OK, this scene is super important in the movie because this moment that they share is the reason why everything happens.' So it has to be believable, it has to be passionate, it has to be real."

"Yeah, that scene is something that we knew was going to be something to catch people's attention," Guzman said. "But not only did we want to catch people's attention, but we wanted them to remember every piece of that, and feel something every time they watch it. So, I feel like we did."

"The Boy Next Door" is rated R and is in theaters this weekend.
