1 dead, 2 injured in crash near Dodger Stadium

ELYSIAN PARK, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- One person was killed and two others injured in a single-vehicle accident in Elysian Park near Dodger Stadium Friday.

Authorities say the incident happened in the 800 block of West Academy Road just after 8 a.m. For unknown reason, the SUV lost control and went down into a ravine, coming to a stop on its side.

The Los Angeles Fire Department extricated the driver and a passenger from the vehicle. They were rushed to a local hospital in critical condition.

A body was seen covered by a white sheet next to the SUV. A second passenger, a man in his 40s, was declared dead at the scene.

The cause of the accident has not been determined.
